As a rule, we source all of our products in Canada. However, the highest quality manila rope is manufactured in the Philippines, so that’s where we have gone for this product. Beautiful for outdoor and decorative applications. Please be aware however, that manila rope is very affected by environmental conditions, particularly moisture. The diameter of the rope will swell when wet. The length of the rope will shrink when wet. It may fade, or blacken outside over time depending on the sun/shade exposure. The rope has a mineral oil lubricant applied to it as per Cordage Institute Standard CI1308. While lubricant is certified to “not impart an offensive odor to the finished rope”, we think it has a very mild smell that some people may be sensitive to.
